End of Updates for SOTI MobiControl v13 Effective February 1, 2020:

With the release of SOTI MobiControl v15.0, SOTI will cease maintenance releases for any version of SOTI MobiControl v13 effective February 1, 2020. This is in line with SOTI’s service levels which offer updates for only the last two major versions of a SOTI product.

To ensure there is no impact to your customers’ business, please encourage them to upgrade to any version of SOTI MobiControl v14.0 or above.

SOTI MobiControl Pricing Notice:

Over the past five years, SOTI has maintained its current level of pricing while at the same time bringing new and innovative features to our products. During this time, there have been three major SOTI MobiControl releases, the inclusion of SOTI Surf and SOTI Hub applications for secure browsing and content management, as well as improvements to our state-of-the-art remote control, and support for additional operating systems including MacOS and Linux. We have also extensively redesigned our user interface and dynamic search capabilities.* This commitment to continuous innovation demonstrates SOTI’s focus on intuitive user experiences and efficiency.

As we continue to launch more upgrades to SOTI MobiControl and provide best-in-class support, we will be increasing the price of SOTI MobiControl, invoiced as of June 1, 2019. Price changes are as follows (in USD):

SOTI MobiControl Restricted Sale of Perpetual SKU:

Based on evolving customer and partner feedback, the following perpetual SKUs of SOTI MobiControl: SOTI-MCP-DEV and SOTI-MCP-MNT will have restricted availability for new business purchases as of June 1, 2019. Add-on and renewals for existing customers will continue to be available.

SOTI will continue to support SOTI MobiControl perpetual licenses on active maintenance contracts, and SOTI MobiControl will continue to be available for purchase through both on-premises and cloud-based subscription versions.

For customers with deployments of less than 500 devices, SOTI Premium Support provides SOTI customers with access to 24/7 technical support (Level 1 support outside business hours), and exclusive training and resources. For deployments of more than 500 devices, customers will have access to SOTI Enterprise Support which includes a 24/7 advanced support team and additional professional services.

One Year Notice:

Webroot antivirus will no longer be supported beyond December 31, 2018

Android antivirus protection is included with all licensed SOTI MobiControl instances. In order to offer the best, integrated antivirus protection in the EMM industry, SOTI will be updating the technology powering SOTI MobiControl’s antivirus protection. 

Starting December 2017, SOTI will be updating the SOTI MobiControl Android agents to use the Bitdefender antivirus engine. This will replace the Webroot antivirus engine, which is currently used in Android agents 13.4 and below. All Android agents 13.5 or above will now use the Bitdefender antivirus engine. As a result of this change, Webroot’s antivirus technology will no longer be supported beyond December 31st, 2018. While there is no immediate impact to customers running Android agents 13.4 and below, they must upgrade their agents by December 31st, 2018 to continue to use antivirus protection. Antivirus policies currently configured in SOTI MobiControl will continue to work with the newer Android agents running Bitdefender’s antivirus technology.

Customers impacted by this notice are encouraged to contact SOTI Support (support@soti.net) for information on the recommended procedure to upgrade their SOTI MobiControl Android agents to a version 13.5 or above.

Action required to continue using SOTI MobiControl location based services beyond June 30th, 2017

On June 30th, 2017, Microsoft will be discontinuing version 7 of Bing Maps which is currently being used for location based services within 13.3 and earlier versions of SOTI MobiControl.

Once Microsoft discontinues version 7 of Bing Maps, SOTI MobiControl users will observe an error when trying to access SOTI MobiControl’s location based services in either the MobiControl Manager desktop application, Web Console, or Self-Service Portal, to:

  • Lookup and display the location of devices on a map view
  • Track and display the location of devices on a map view
  • See the breadcrumb display of a device’s historical location on a map view
  • Create/View Geofences on a map view

For customers with on premise installations of SOTI MobiControl, in order to continue using location based services beyond June 30th, SOTI recommends the action applicable to your customer’s version of SOTI MobiControl listed in the table below.
